Located off the longest coast-to-coast highway in the United States, the Clock Tower Resort was seen by thousands of travelers each year. Designed and built in the late sixties, Henrici’s, as it was originally named, opened in 1968 and was owned by Rockford Industrialist Seth Atwood. In 1970, Larson & Darby was hired by Atwood to expand and enhance the Clock Tower and continued designing additions and improvements through 1996. Additional guest rooms, a coffee shop, Figgs Café, Bellamy’s, The Quark, and the Time Museum were just a few of the iconic spaces enjoyed by travelers and locals alike.
Now just a memory, the Clock Tower was the place for thousands of Rockford’s leading events, business meetings, conventions, wedding receptions, class reunions, political rallies, and New Year’s Eve parties.
